The Issue
PETITION AGAINST ELIZABETH ANJORIN (ALSO KNOWN AS LIZZY ANJORIN) FOR CYBER BULLYING, DEFAMATION, ONLINE HARASSMENT, AND CHILD-ENDANGERING CONDUCT
To:
• The General Public
• The Lagos State Government
• The Office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria
• All Foreign Embassies in Nigeria
• The Inspector General of Police (IGP)
• The Deputy Inspector General, Force Criminal Investigation Department (DIG FCID)
• The Assistant Inspector General, FCID Annex, Lagos and Abuja
Subject: Call for Urgent Investigation and Sanction Against Online Abuse by Lizzy Anjorin
We, the undersigned members of the public and concerned citizens of Nigeria, are deeply alarmed by the repeated and escalating acts of cyber bullying, online defamation, and threats emanating from one Elizabeth Anjorin, popularly known as Lizzy Anjorin.
Over time, Ms. Anjorin has demonstrated a pattern of using her social media platforms to harass, defame, and mentally endanger other citizens, including innocent children, their parents, and vulnerable individuals. Her actions are not only morally reprehensible but potentially criminal under existing Nigerian and international laws governing cybercrime, child protection, and hate speech.
⸻
GROUNDS OF THIS PETITION:
1. Cyber Bullying of Random Individuals:
Lizzy Anjorin frequently attacks people on social media with verbal abuse, false claims, and degrading remarks, often escalating trivial misunderstandings into dangerous public smear campaigns.
2. Defamation and False Criminal Allegations:
She publicly accuses individuals of serious crimes such as rape, assassination, and theft, without any legal proof or court backing. These statements serve no purpose other than to destroy reputations for attention and social media clout.
3. Verbal Assault and Death Wishes Against a Mother and Her Newborn:
In a recent incident, Ms. Anjorin viciously attacked actress Iyabo Ojo online, extending her insults to the actress’s daughter who recently gave birth. She shockingly wished death upon the newborn child, the mother, and the grandmother—a direct violation of moral and civil decency.
4. Mockery and Abuse of Children With Disabilities:
She has posted images of children living with disabilities and used them to mock both the children and their families. These are minors who cannot defend themselves, and such behavior fuels stigma, mental trauma, and potential emotional damage.
5. Repeated Death Threats to Children and Families:
Beyond verbal abuse, she consistently issues threats of violence and death towards children and their parents, further demonstrating a pattern of dangerous conduct that must not be ignored.
⸻
OUR COLLECTIVE DEMANDS:
1. That the Nigerian Police Force, through the IGP, DIG FCID, and AIG FCID Annex in Lagos and Abuja, open a full and immediate investigation into Ms. Anjorin’s activities.
2. That the Lagos State Government and Federal Authorities sanction her social media behavior under existing cybercrime and anti-defamation laws.
3. That international embassies and human rights organizations in Nigeria be made aware of her conduct, particularly as it involves hate speech, threats against minors, and incitement of public unrest.
4. That Ms. Anjorin be made to tender a public apology to the victims of her online abuse.
5. That relevant child protection agencies and mental health professionals investigate the mental and emotional effects of her actions on minors and their families.
6. That social media platforms be petitioned to suspend or restrict her accounts if she continues to violate community standards.
⸻
WHY THIS MATTERS:
When public figures or influencers like Lizzy Anjorin use their platforms irresponsibly and maliciously, it promotes a culture of fear, hate, and lawlessness. No child, mother, or citizen should be subjected to online threats or defamatory abuse in a civilized society.
We are calling on Nigerians and the international community to sign this petition to end the culture of online bullying and defamation, especially by public figures who should know better.
We believe that no one is above the law. This petition is a plea for justice, accountability, and the protection of our digital and moral spaces.
