PETITION AGAINST 15 METRE TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLE ON BOWLAND ROAD SHOPS IN WOODLEY

PETITION AGAINST 15 METRE TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLE ON BOWLAND ROAD SHOPS IN WOODLEY
A planning application has been submitted for a 15metre (50 Feet) tall phase 9 Monopole ‘super-mast’ right outside the convenience store on Bowland Road in Woodley.
This would be an extremely tall telecommunications mast, that will rise more than twice the height of the shops and flats. Due to the sheer scale of the mast it would be visible along several neighbouring streets, including Ashdown Avenue, Charnwood Road, Savernake Road, Needwood Road, Sherwood Road, Westfield Drive, Clough Meadow etc
The mast itself will be extremely unsightly, with exposed antenna and appliances protruding from the top of the tower. This will tower over surrounding homes and further create an industrialised look and feel to this beautiful residential area which has recently been improved with newly resurfaced pavements and the opening of small businesses which have outdoor seating and have to tried to create a nice atmosphere which will be ruined by this monstrosity. The application proposes several equipment cabinets, which will almost obstruct the pathway as well as making the outside of the shops look extremely un-attractive.
It appears most local residents are unaware of this new application, as some residents on Bowland Road haven’t even received a letter about this proposal. It is vitally important we get as many objections to this as possible to try and prevent this proposal going ahead.
The window for objections lasts until 21st May 2022. Please sign and share this petition, and add your objection via the planning website here you will need to search for Bowland Road in the search box as the link on the letter sent to residents doesn’t work! Every objection counts! Thank you!
