A dozen students of Holy Trinity Catholic High School have been requesting that they play The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin Lizzy over the PA system since February 2019. They will play one song every morning and all that we ask is that they play our request. The noble man, Peter, who was a candidate for Co-President of student council and is actively involved in our school community is the one who picks and chooses which songs get played. He reviewed our request after a couple months and informed us that there were a few ill-mannered references though we believe otherwise. Though we do not believe there is any vulgarity in the song, we respect peters judgement as we always have. The only conflict that arises with his decision that this song is ineligible to play, is that it is in no way worse than other songs played before it. Some of these songs with rather vulgar references would be “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It”, “Whatcha Say”, and more. If Boys are Back in Town is played, the school will erupt into excitement and ultimately lead to every student having a better start to their day and up their productivity in their school work.
