Change Animal Rights in India

The Issue

Hi, guys. In today's India, where animal abuse is at its peak, we have to change animal rights in India. The current animal rights in India are not enough to protect every animal and every animal being slaughtered. Please use the hashtag #changeanimalrightsinindia to share this.

What we can do is to urge the Indian government to change animal rights in India and also increase the penalty for animal abuse in India. If we are successful in changing animal rights in India, then we can also be able to bring that change to the rest of the world.

So, overall, we have to create a better and kinder world for animals.

Our Constitution casts a duty on every citizen to show compassion towards animals and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 punishes all kinds of crimes against animals with a fine of just 50 Rupees, which does not prevent an abuser from abusing animals, but this small penalty promotes an animal abuser to do horrific abuse on animals.

Both the above constitutional provisions were introduced by the 42nd Amendment in 1976. While they are not directly enforceable in Indian courts, they lay down the groundwork for legislation, policies and state directives in furtherance of animal protection at the central and state levels. Moreover, they may be enforced in courts by taking an expansive judicial interpretation and bringing them within the ambit of the fundamental right to life and liberty under Article 21, which is judicially enforceable.

Recently in India, an elephant died after suspected firecrackers hidden in fruit exploded in her mouth. This elephant is pregnant and carrying a newborn.

So, please kindly share this and sign the petition to change animal rights in India. We have to follow this hashtag.
