Dear All,

In the city of Bikaner where garbage is dumped regularly at public places , we see a lot of stray dogs hovering around and even sleeping and eating the garbage. There is no control of the government to regulate the population of stray dogs in the four corners of the city especially Bikaner. We find huge packs of street dogs fighting and howling in the night that is very scary for all pedestrians walking on the road. Especially near public park there is no respite to Dog menace.There are at least 30 dogs in the area and maybe even more. It is estimated that Bikaner city has over hundereds of dogs. Even cruel owners just leave their dogs on roads and the poor dog is at the mercy of howling street dogs and heavy traffic. Can at least the Bikanereans come together and sign the petition so PETA gets active and take a certain action related to stray dogs.
I started this petition because I am a animal lover and stray dogs also need protection by sterilization to control the population. Residents are at the risk especially small children to be bitten by the dogs. This petition can make a difference to all dog lovers in the city of Bikaner to think beyond their own pedigree dogs and think of the animals who are causing menace in the neighbourhood. We need animal shelters, ambulances to transport the dogs to the shelter, facilities for sterilisation and also adoption of the puppies. Helplines to be available to the general public to report dog menace, accidents, etc.
