Persuade Chick-fil-A to Shift from Styrofoam to Biodegradable and Reusable Cups

Persuade Chick-fil-A to Shift from Styrofoam to Biodegradable and Reusable Cups
The Issue
After a recent visit to the Hawaiian Islands, as a family, we were struck at how difficult it is to manage the unavoidable waste products that we, as a society, produce. The islands became a microcosm of how waste is an issue for the entire planet. After returning home, we were distraught to realize that one of our favorite restaurants, Chick-fil-A, plays a significant role in this crisis by their extensive use of non-biodegradable Styrofoam cups. These cups will persist in our environment for thousands of years, causing an untold amount of harm to local ecosystems and future generations. That's why we're urging Chick-fil-A to take a major stride towards environmental responsibility by transitioning from Styrofoam cups to biodegradable paper cups and asking that they consider offering options for reusable cups within all their restaurants.
So often big problems result in that “but what can I really do?” feeling. Our family has decided that maybe we can make a difference and ask you to join us so that our voices are more likely to be heard.
The goal is clear, and the method is simple. Transitioning to biodegradable paper cups and eliminating Styrofoam cups will drastically reduce the amount of Chick-fil-a packaging in landfills and oceans for thousands of years to come. In addition, by offering a discounted drink with the use of reusable cups, Chick-fil-A can incentivize consumers to move towards sustainable practices while simultaneously demonstrating its own commitment to environmental conservation. Let’s join hands to safeguard our environment for future generations, starting with our cups. We encourage all supporters and advocates of this cause to sign this petition. Together, we can urge big chains like Chick-fil-A to lead the change we wish to see in the world.
