I am writing from a deeply personal place, where my husband's health requires this because it's safer then being on 52 pills again. I believe our city can do better. My husband is disabled and struggles significantly to access his vital medications. Marijuana, which helps manage his epilepsy, pain, and stress, is particularly challenging for him to obtain due to Warren's current restrictions on marijuana businesses. The necessity of this action is not just for him, but for countless Warren citizens who could benefit from convenient and legal access to this medication. Our neighboring communities have already welcomed marijuana businesses, and the benefits are clear. Beyond the vital medical aspect, these businesses could contribute significantly to Warren's financial health, creating jobs, bolstering economic growth. It is time for Mayor Laurie Stone to recognize these benefits and to allow marijuana dispensaries in our city, making it safer by reducing the need for home dealers.
