I, as an animal lover and concerned citizen, am deeply disturbed by the deplorable conditions at Eds Exotic Pet World. The animals in their care are suffering from neglect and abuse, with no access to proper lighting, temperature control, or suitable living environments. It is my heartfelt plea that we come together to demand the permanent closure of this establishment and the immediate rescue of these innocent creatures.

As a witness to the horrors within Eds Exotic Pet World, I have personally seen animals confined to tiny enclosures for years on end. Two large birds named Harpo and Charlie have been trapped in their minuscule cage for an unimaginable amount of time, many years, without ever experiencing freedom or handling. This level of isolation is not only cruel but also detrimental to their physical and mental well-being.

The conditions these animals endure are beyond unacceptable. Many suffer from metabolic bone disease (MBD), a painful condition caused by insufficient exposure to UVB light necessary for calcium absorption. Additionally, tail rot has been observed among some reptiles due to unsanitary living conditions. These poor creatures are severely underweight and lethargic as a result of prolonged mistreatment.

Reptiles and exotics are more often subjected to abuse for prolonged amounts of time because at large the public generally doesnt know the proper manner of care, subsequently they also can't tell a sick or depressed exotic when seeing it. That general societal ignorance towards these animals fuels places like this. Treated like a novelty, they bring these poor creatures out forcing them into highly stressful environments with improper handling and high risks of contracting illnesses by bringing them as a novelty to childrens parties where parents do not realize the horrors they witness. For example, a creature whos skin is damaged and can experience burns from the oils on human skin, being passed around to children touched without gloves etc. These animals can't speak to scream their pain. And the parents are unaware of their suffering. 

These distressing facts are not mere allegations; Many Reptile Rescuers and long term reptile owners have also spoken out. The evidence clearly indicates that Eds Exotic Pet World fails in providing even basic care standards for exotic animals.

It is disheartening that these defenseless beings continue to suffer while being offered for sale at exorbitant prices that make it nearly impossible for individuals like myself to rescue them from this nightmare.

By signing this petition, we urge local authorities, animal welfare organizations, and concerned citizens alike to take immediate action against Eds Exotic Pet World. We demand the permanent closure of this establishment due to its blatant disregard for the well-being of these animals. Furthermore, we implore authorities to remove the neglected and abused animals from their care and ensure they are placed in reputable rescue organizations where they can receive the proper care, love, and attention they so desperately need.
