Permanently Ban Yonder Pouches in Salem-Keizer School District Schools

Permanently Ban Yonder Pouches in Salem-Keizer School District Schools
The Issue
Growing up in the Salem-Keizer district, having to utilize yonder pouches will be an unnecessary hindrance. I remember the day my shoes broke, and I had to ask my parents to bring me a spare, using my phone because it was not considered an emergency. Another time, when a friend needed a ride, I had to let my family know, otherwise I could have been potentially leaving them in a dangerous situation to get home.
These pouches not only prevent us from communicating important, often emergent information, but they also limit our access to educational resources. Our personal devices are not only for recreation or distraction. They hold crucial information necessary for our academic growth and personal safety.
By forcing us to use yonder pouches, the Salem-Keizer district is effectively depriving us of our property - an infringement on our human right #17 ("No one shall be arbitrary deprived of his property"). This goes beyond an inconvenience; it is a direct contradiction of our rights as human beings.
More, the ban limits our ability to adapt to a tech-driven world, potentially impacting our preparation for careers and our relationship with technology.
It's time that we call into question the necessity and effectiveness of this policy. We urge those in power in the Salem-Keizer district to reconsider the permanence of yonder pouches in the schools. Your signatures can help us regain our rights, our safety, and our full learning capabilities. Sign the petition today!
