We need a 24 Hour Garda Station ~ let’s make it happen! 

Newcastle West Co. Limerick has population of approx 8,000 people (and growing) and is the largest town in Limerick. 

As a “satellite town” it also serves a wide number of surrounding communities throughout east and west limerick who come to work, eat, shop and socialise. 

The town itself has some excellent shops, eateries , boutiques, salons and bars however the constant anti social behaviour, threats, acts of vandalism and violence by youths and their families has lead the towns people to say enough is enough. Newcastle West people want to walk through their town safely, wherever they need to go. To be able to drive through the town without rocks being thrown at their cars. To park without worrying their car will be damaged. To have their teenagers not be attacked by other teenagers for just simply being “up town”. To stamp out drugs!!  

At present if you call the Garda station after 9pm your call is sent to Henry street Garda station - who are at full capacity as it is and is approx 40 mins away. If you call during the day and report an act of violence by a gang of youths - nothing is done! …..Not anywhere near good enough - in fact that response has escalated the problem.
We demand better social protection and safety.
