We the people of Oceanside, who are in the know, respect and love, Bruce, The Oceanside Trech Coat Guy. He is the guy that every tourist or inlander is trying to save on the daily from committing harm upon himself (or so they think) in the water, where he is actually at peace and just taking a dip and going for a swim.

I think we should appreciate Bruce now, by showing our love for him by putting a statue at Wisconsin st on the strand. The Oceanside Trench Coat Man is known by people all across the world and is loved by everyone throughout Oceanside. We should pay homage to someone who brings light to our day’s for being unique in his own way. Bruce is what keeps Oceanside authentic, not all these cookie cutter hotels, micro brewerie and condos. Let’s embrace the good we have left in Oceanside before it turns into Carlsbad or even worse the Cardiff kooks.

The proposed idea is to erect a life size statue of Bruce near “Tower 7” his favorite spot to hang, for locals and tourists alike to shoot photos with and wait at in hopes of meeting the elusive character himself.
