The citizens of Faribault, Minnesota would like for the JennieO Turkey Plant to find a different option for parking that is neighborhood friendly. The lots that are located along 3rd Ave NW and 11th St Nw (city owned and the old Kucera lot), need to remain as a natural block between the neighborhood and the JennieO Plant. We do not want a parking lot in this area, the trees and green space are needed to protect our property values, as a sound barrier, and as a visual barrier to the plant. If this area is destroyed it will make the sound in the area unbearable, visually it will be unappealing, the dust, smell, everything will echo.... our property values will plummet and the neighborhood will fail. Financially it will effect everyone living on the north side of Faribault. Leave the lot, make it a park, a community garden or just make it a woods... improve the blocking value of the city owned corner of the lot... Fix the noise and smell issues and re-route trucks so they go through a less populated area... JennieO's needs to be a good neighbor and realize, they build and expanded in a neighborhood setting and we, as neighbors to the plant deserve to enjoy our homes, without the intrusion of the plant. Keep JennieO's north of the tracks, and have them work with their neighborhood to make it better, not destroy it.. We the following citizens of Faribault do not want the JennieO Turkey Plant to expand or invade the area south of the tracks...we want them to fix the issues they have and be good neighbors...
