Bring back Pleasure Island, Liverpool

The Issue

As a child growing up through the 1990s, Pleasure Island wasn't just a place of adventure, a place of education, a place to spend all day and weekends to keep my little legs busy. It was like a second home and I'm sure thousands of people throughout Liverpool, Merseyside and the North West will also agree.

Pleasure Island was a place for parents to take their children to run wild while they either joined in on the fun or could sit back, relax and watch their children smile with glee.

Unfortunately in 1997, Pleasure Island would close its doors, FOREVER. To many children & parents alike during that time, this was an absolute heartbreak and they had lost a truly amazing and adventurous place to spend free time.

Since the closing date in 1997, the land of which Pleasure Island was situated has laid derelict and unused for almost 20 years. The International Festival Gardens have since been renovated and look truly amazing once again, but the land of which the unforgettable structure of "The Dome" was once on, lays bare and empty, almost like a ghost town.

I, and am sure thousands of people of Liverpool, Merseyside and the North West would love to see that amazing dome erected once again and the name Pleasure Island lit across it like when it was first opened. Updated with the latest technology like ice rink, go-karting, games arcade, laser quest, bowling alley, indoor fun fair and once again the WORLDS biggest indoor fun adventure structure formally known as The Works, I'm sure such place would bring thousands of customers weekly and also boost Liverpool's ever growing economy and put The Festival Gardens back on the map and to help keep children off the streets and give them a fun place to be.
