Why this petition matters

DEMAND FOR A CHANGE of DEWSBURY MARKAZ MANAGEMENT!!
PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TODAY!!!
Founded in 1978 and also known as the Markazi Masjid, the South Street complex is one of the largest mosques in Europe with a long established history. Its pioneering founders, Late Hafiz M.A. Patel (R.A), Late Ishaq Patel (R.A) and Maulana Yaqub Qasmi (DB), Hafiz Shareef (R.A), Haji Masood (DB), Hafiz Bentick (DB), Maulana Jallad (R.A), Qasim Khan (DB) amongst others, were the bedrock of spiritual reformation, that has today developed into one of the most important grassroots Islamic movements in the contemporary Muslim world.
The Darul Uloom, Institute of Islamic Education (Jamia Talimul Islam), an independent day and boarding faith school for boys from year 7 upwards and one of the main Islamic seminaries in the UK, was built by monies raised by the community and led under the auspiciousness of the esteemed Ulema, Maulana Saeed Patel (DB), Maulana Yusuf Darwan (DB), Maulana Imtiaz Valli (DB), Maulana Kamal (R.A), Hafiz Shareef (R.A), Maulana Naim Akhtar (DB), Maulana Ubeidullah (DB), Mufti Sacha (DB), amongst many others.
Under their leadership and management, the Darul Uloom not only encouraged academic excellence and achievement but placed great emphasis on the Tarbiyyah of its students. The moral and spiritual development of students is at the forefront of the courses, shaping students to become model citizens and members of their community by displaying the characteristics of the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم.
Adaab (manners) and Akhlaaq (good personal character) were embedded in every lesson and a responsibility of every teacher at the Darul Uloom. This was at the core of their ethos and which was delivered in a supporting, Islamic environment. Several hundreds of Huffaz and Ulemaa –e Kiraam have graduated and gone onto to make a real meaningful impact on the world stage.
Sadly, this legacy and its traits has changed as a consequence of the current “Shura” management decision, who themselves have a deplorable, undignified track record of their dealings, financial and otherwise; Zakaria Muslim Girls High School (Batley) and Dewsbury Markaz are just 2 amongst many.
Maulana Saeed (DB) and Maulana Yusuf (DB) were summarily dismissed from their posts on Friday 29 November, 2019 for no reason other than a disdain for their high moral character, integrity and upright conduct in the face of injustices, leaving both staff, students and the wider community, demoralised and upset. It beggars belief how these Trustees could demonstrate a clear contempt and a total disregard for the Law, both secular and religious, with arrogance and impunity. This CANNOT be allowed to continue :
- Do we want the Darul Uloom to end up like Zakaria Muslim Girls High School (Batley)?
- Do we want our Dewsbury Markaz to be hijacked and run down, with no accountability and transparency from the management?
- Are we happy to continue with always being met with a wall of silence when they are challenged with evidence of Gross Mal-Administration?
- Do we want to see the real genuine sacrifices, toil and sweat of our founding fathers of over 50+ years to be just wasted and fritted away at the behest of a few “power hungry” elite?
NO !! WE AGREE…………..
THEN SIGN THIS PETITION TODAY AND LETS CALL FOR A PUBLIC MEETING TO CHANGE THE STATUS QUO !!
