People of color strike
The Issue
Petition for a Peaceful Day of Recognition of the Contributions of People of Colour in the UK
We, the undersigned, support a peaceful day of action to highlight the essential role that people of colour play in every part of life across the United Kingdom.
From the NHS and public services to education, transport, business, science, arts, sports, and community leadership, people of colour make invaluable contributions that help keep our country moving forward every day.
This initiative is intended to encourage reflection and recognition of these contributions. By voluntarily stepping back from work and other activities for a day, participants aim to demonstrate the positive impact their presence, skills, labour, and cultural contributions have on British society.
This is not an action against any group or community. Rather, it is a call for greater appreciation, respect, equality, and understanding. We believe that recognising the contributions of all communities strengthens the UK and helps build a more inclusive future.
We invite members of the public, employers, community organisations, and policymakers to acknowledge and celebrate the important role that people of colour play in the social, economic, and cultural life of our nation.
Together, we can promote recognition, unity, and mutual respect while demonstrating that diversity is one of the United Kingdom’s greatest strengths.
All people with color go on strike to make their presence felt to run 🇬🇧. All teachers, doctors, nurses, takeaways/shop owners:workers, warehouse workers, big business owners(Asda etc).
