Brittany Lauga member for Keppel is pettioning with the Darumbal people to change the name of our local, Black Gin Creek and the name of the Road will obviously follow.Both these pieces of our local history and heritage are located in the Mirani electorate. We have had no consultation on these issues from either party. This concept has been discussed several times in the past and each time common sense has prevailed and the sites have kept their original names as given by our first settlers to the area based on local history and folk lore. Both my wives and my families have farmed and nurtured the area for over 4 generations and believe we and a lot of other similar families have as much say in the names that are used in our area as anyone else. So if you feel the same and are sick of politicians wasting time and money on unneccassry and unproductive changes instead of doing more key work like fixing our hosiptal waiting lists, controlling the youth crime rate or getting a better deal for our pensioners and veterans then please voice your concerns here and now so we can start to make our elected officials accountable. So once again please say NO to this name change and have OUR voices heard. Thank You.
