Releasing doves at weddings is a popular tradition. Little do people know, that by doing so, these animals are basically being sent to their deaths. The doves are born and raised in captivity, only to later be inhumanely released at wedding/funerals/events for profit. Birds are flock animals and when raised in captivity lack the necessary survival skills that they would otherwise have had they been born in the wild. They are most likely to starve to death, or fall prey to another animal. While the tradition may be symbolic to some, it is cruel and inhumane. The practice, and the breeding of these beautiful animals for this purpose should be made illegal.
