Puppy mills do not practice humane methods in caring for the puppies. They are euthanized in cruel ways, including shooting or drowning if they are not adopted soon enough even if they are perfectly healthy. Puppies are taken from their parents at too young of an age and can develop serious health or behavioral problems due to the terrible conditions in which they are bred, held and shipped. 

     -Usually kept in rusty cages

     -No protection from the heat, cold, or weather

     -Little to no veterinary care

     -When shipped, the puppies can go for 12 hours with no food or water

     -The puppy mills often don’t care about the puppies, so they are in terrible condition

This can all be solved by banning inhumane and unsanitary conditions in puppy mills and helping humane shelters and rescues that care for there dogs, and do not euthanize their dogs.
