Maximum penalty for killers of innocent puppy

Maximum penalty for killers of innocent puppy

The Issue

Justice for Hank the innocent puppy. Ask Judge Robert Pigman to impose the maximum penalty on puppy killers.

According the news reports, authorities have arrested two men after the death of a dog that was dragged for more than five miles behind a pickup truck in Evansville. http://www.wthr.com/story/31906115/2-charged-in-death-of-dog-dragged-5-miles-behind-truck

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office has arrested 24-year-old Brandyn Alan Cox, the alleged driver, charging him with four counts of animal cruelty and two other counts.

A probable cause affidavit says that when a female motorist cut off the truck Tuesday, the man threatened her, untied the carcass of the Great Dane mix named Hank from a bumper and drove off. She photographed the truck's license plate and the driver's arm with a distinctive tattoo.

A second man, Jamie McFarland, was also arrested for allegedly tethering the dog to the bumper. He is jailed on a charge of torturing or mutilating an animal.

The measure of this cruelty in unimaginable, dragging this poor dog for Five Miles down the streets of Evansville Indiana. This has brought great pain to everyone who has witnessed the act and even those who have only heard of it. I can only imagine what the owners of this pup are going through.

Anyone who commits such horrendous acts should and must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Other motorists tried to stop these two before the woman risked her safety by stopping them.

It is worth noting that animal cruelty is often a precursor to human cruelty. Statistics show that murderers, rapists, and other violent offenders often begin by inflicting pain and death upon animals. That is one reason why acts like this should not be treated lightly. And for those of us who value our dogs as family members the pain we feel at their loss is immense. To have a pet brutally murdered adds even more pain. This poor dog brought harm to no one. Please help stop animal cruelty and ask for Justice for Hank!
