Mandatory spay and neuter

Mandatory spay and neuter

The Issue

Every day animals are suffering. Whether it’s neglect, or physical abuse. Animals suffer in many other ways as well. So often, animals are bred in conditions that are not supplemental to their health and safety. Every day cats are discarded outside. These cats breed and birth in extreme weather and predators. These babies suffer their only moments of life experiencing trauma and suffering until they die.
Hoarding cases in cats are climbing rapidly. These cats breed and birth in extreme inhumane living conditions. Conditions such as extreme ammonia and feline diseases. These conditions are not fit for newborns, as their immune system is not built for it. So again, these babies are born into moments of suffering until they die.

Dogs are bred daily. Whether it’s accidental or for profit reasons. Unwanted litters are often given away, or sold to people with little to no intentions of giving humane care. Dogs are seized every day from chains, from starvation, abuse, fighting, ect. These dogs end up in shelters, where it’s overcrowded, loud, and stressful for them. Animals are being euthanized.. Whether it’s for space, behavior, or medical conditions.
Puppies are being born, and are not given the necessary vaccinations. Now they are suffering from parvovirus, because their owner didn’t have enough money for treatment. Or it was surrendered to the shelter.. now there are others contaminated with the same virus. It is not a cheap treatment.
As much as we’d like to “save them all”, that term is so dangerous in many ways.

You’re unsocialized dog that has lived outside on a chain it’s entire life, you decided you wanted to surrender to your local shelter, cannot be adopted. It tries to bite everyone. That dogs deemed unfit for the community then euthanized.
You’re litter of 3 week old kittens you brought to the shelter because you did not want them, just died because of the spread illnesses in a shelter environment.
You’re black pit bull you surrendered because you’re moving has been sitting in there depressed for 10 months because nobody is interested.

Animals are suffering. A mandatory spay and neuter law for those not licensed for breeding, is crucial for animal care! They need our help.

Stop breeding. Stop the neglect!
