Jerry’s Foods on Sanibel island has at least half a dozen cages with a single parrot in each one at the entrance to their store. They have been resident there for years and live there 365 days a year. Parrots are highly intelligent and incredibly social animals who thrive in groups, living an extraordinarily long life. The torturous conditions that these birds live in is heartbreaking. We are imploring Jerry’s to please rehome these parrots to a sanctuary where they can live out the rest of what remains of their lives in a more humane environment.
