Animal sales, puppy mills and backyard breeders are overwhelming our animal shelters with massive amounts of surplus pets.  The funding for our animal shelters has long been overspent leaving most shelters with no other option other than euthanasia for many young and otherwise adoptable pets.  Craigslist has opened the doors for free backyard breeder ads under the title of "Re-Homing Fees".  They are citing "I ask a large re-homing fee to ensure good homes".  Those of us in rescue and shelter workers know that money ensures nothing for a good or permanent home for these animals.  Our Animal shelters are bursting at the seams with purebred animals and intact (unsprayed/neutered) pets of all types.  The rampant breeding and sales of these animals has increased due to the ease and accessability of free ads.  Please help by signing this petition to ban all animal sales on Craigslist.
