Matthew Saylor started this petition to Pennsylvania State House and

As Grocery store Shelves begin to empty Please Support small Produce farms Across Pennsylvania! Collectively we can make a MAJOR impact on supply demand shortages and "food" shortages in our local communities. Buying locally grown produce is not only fresher and generally "naturally grown" Buying Local supports Local economies.

All 50 states have a State "Right to Farm Act" Pennsylvania has one as well; (Pennsylvania Right to Farm Act (RTFA) 3P.S. SS954) It is also called the "protection of Agricultural Operations from Nuisance Suits and Ordinances" The stated purpose of this Act is to reduce the loss of agricultural Lands in the Commonwealth through conserving, protecting, and encouraging the development of agricultural lands by limiting nuisance claims and Ordinances. The Pennsylvania General assembly Addresses the issue of expanding urban pressure from expanding Metro areas In (1981 ACT 43ss2.) Again protecting Farm lands and Farmers rights.

However with the continued Oppressions from local Government agencies and Municipalities Due to Urban Sprawl and lack of enforcement through the State, The Municipalities planning Commission, And even the State Attorney General. My Farm "Appalachian Valley Farm Farm # 0420 Located In Slatington Pennsylvania Is about to be Fined and or shut down. Because "Washington Township" Thinks they have the authority to dictate there "Unauthorized Zoning" on Small farms, Ignoring these Very Protections put in place by our State to Uphold our rights as Farmers and protect farm land. Please Share and support this Petition as we ARE your last line of defense in regard to the food supply chain! Support Local Farms! Thank you in advance! Together we CAN Make a difference.
