Over the past 4 years my son has been involved with these groups that have won numerous championships and awards. I have listed these achievements below. These groups have been recognized by the school board several times and last spring they were even honored by our town’s mayor. With each recognition, these students have received certificates with the expectation of a school jacket. My son, who is now a senior, still has not been awarded with a jacket. Throughout the past 4 years, my son, along with the other members of these groups, has received a number of patches from these competitions. Since he does not have a school jacket he has nowhere to put them except on a shelf. These students have worked incredibly hard and have achieved so much. These music groups are by far the most successful organizations in Pennsauken High School. In the circuits in which they compete, these students carry with them a reputation of excellence. Many individuals and groups anticipate their performances. There is a unity among them, but they truly want to show it. The Pennsauken performing groups have done nothing but promote their school in a positive manner and for this I feel that they should be rewarded. I am hoping that the school board will consider honoring these remarkable students with some type of jacket that they can wear with pride and display their achievements.
