VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN DEAN THEODORE RUGER

Whereas, Penn Law is one of the great legal institutions in the United States;

Whereas, law schools are to be led by the Dean;

Whereas, Penn Law and Dean Ted Ruger are perceived to have made several, serious missteps in the past two years, among them:

(1) retaining Professor Amy Wax despite multiple racist remarks,

(2) unilaterally changing the name of the law school; and

(3) failing to meet with students and alumni to explain and justify the specifics of the naming gift by the Carey Foundation.

Those who sign this Petition do hereby declare that they have no confidence in Dean Ted Ruger, that he should resign immediately and, if he refuses to resign, he should be replaced.
