Discord is one of the biggest chat apps for the average high-school student. Many clubs, including Gamers United, Science Olympiad, and Animation Nation use it to inform their members of meetings. And yet, with absolutely no warning, Pembroke Pines Charter High School has blocked it on their Wi-Fi. 

The signal in the buildings is truly horrendous, so we cannot even switch to Cellular Data to talk to our friends or get club information, and that’s not even pointing out the fact that many students can’t afford an unlimited data plan. Discord is incredibly important to the average high schooler, and we didn’t even get an explanation as to why we were immediately cut-off. 

And whatever issues you have with Discord, the same issues could appear on something like WhatsApp. It’s a clear bias against one platform. 

So please, sign this petition to get the school to unblock Discord on their Wi-Fi.
