This should be a basic right here in America, but the current law that is standing works for the owner not the renters. The current Washington law states that there is no cap on how much the owners can raise their rent, and if we want to change it we have take it to our legislation. In doing my research I found This law was passed in 1981. YEP! 40 years ago. The Washington State Legislature passed a ban on rent control in 1981.

This situation is very personal to me because I just got a notice that my rent is going from $350 to $1,000 starting March of next year, which is what started me on this journey. Yet, I own my mobile and am only paying him for the space it is on. But, the good news is that I am a pit bull when I grab onto something I am passionate about, and nobody "backs baby in a corner."

I truly believe that one person can make a difference, and I am that person here. As I said, it's going to take a village (all your signatures) and I will make sure that our legislation does something about changing this law.
