PAY NURSES THEIR SALARY ARREARS

The issue

Join me in urging the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ghana, take immediate action and release all outstanding salary arrears to those nurses who were recruited more than a year ago.

By signing this petition, you are standing in solidarity with these healthcare workers and ensuring that their critical contributions are not overshadowed by administrative delays.

Having spent considerable time mentoring nurses, I have had the privilege to witness first-hand their dedication and unwavering commitment to serving our nation with their professional skills and knowledge.

These young frontline heroes, whose efforts and sacrifices have been integral in strenghtening the healthcare system, deserve more than just words of gratitude.

They deserve timely and just compensation for the selfless work that keep the Ghanaian community healthy.

About 13,000 nurses have been waiting for their 10-12 month salary arrears since Nov, 2025. This delay not only puts a financial strain on these hard-working nurses but also undermines their morale and well-being.

Ensuring prompt payments of these salary arrears should be a priority for the Ministry of Health, given the rising cost of living among these professionals.

The MOH, led by Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has the authority and the means to resolve this issue promptly by facilitating the release of overdue funds to these deserving nurses.

Such action will not only help with addressing the pressing needs of these nurses but it will prevent another public agitation.

Mr health minister, it's important to promptly pay these outstanding salaries to the affected nurses in order to maintain their trust and retain their invaluable services.

 Thank you.
