Pause Meta data center construction

Pause Meta data center construction
The Issue
The Issue
Residents of Northeast El Paso are facing a major industrial development that could significantly impact our community, our water supply, and our quality of life.
A Meta (Wurldwide LLC) data center is being proposed in our area. While it may bring economic growth and technological advancement, those potential benefits must be carefully weighed against the long-term environmental and community impacts.
We are calling for a temporary halt to this project until comprehensive environmental reviews are completed and clear, transparent information is provided to the public.
🚨 WHAT WE KNOW
Meta is planning a massive AI data center in Northeast El Paso
It may require significant water in a drought-prone region
It will place major demand on our power grid and infrastructure
🌿 WHAT FEDERAL SCREENING SHOWS
9 federally protected species may be present in this area
Floodplain and drainage features (arroyos) exist nearby
👉 These may require review under:
the Endangered Species Act
the Clean Water Act
These findings raise serious questions about whether required environmental reviews have been conducted or disclosed.
❓ WHAT THEY HAVEN’T TOLD US
Has a full environmental review been completed?
Has federal oversight been triggered?
How much water will this actually use long-term—and who will bear the cost?
What happens during drought conditions?
🚨 WE DON’T HAVE CLEAR ANSWERS — AND THAT’S THE PROBLEM
💥 WHY THIS MATTERS
El Paso is not a place with unlimited resources.
We should not be:
guessing about water
guessing about environmental impact
guessing about long-term consequences
📣 WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR
We are not against progress.
But we are demanding:
transparency
accountability
proper environmental review
before this project moves forward any further.
🚨 OUR COMMUNITY DESERVES ANSWERS
Residents deserve the opportunity to:
understand the full impact of this project
ask questions
be part of decisions that affect our future
Development of this scale should not move forward without the community fully understanding what is at stake.
✊ TAKE ACTION
Sign this petition and help bring visibility, accountability, and answers to Northeast El Paso—before it’s too late.
We demand:
thorough environmental review
full transparency
responsible planning before construction continues to advance
