Save the Historical Port Huron Pere Marquette Bridge

Save the Historical Port Huron Pere Marquette Bridge
The Issue
The old Pere Marquette bridge is a beautiful piece of Port Huron's history. The bridge was built in 1931 and has stood as a testament of the once prosperous nature of our city. The bridge has been owned by three rail companies that have all come and gone, and yet it still stands as a proud reminder of the men and women who worked in the rail transportation industry.
Today the bridge looks old and tired but has a sturdy and sound structure perfect for restoration. This historical monument should be saved for future generations to see how far we've come and to know the history of our city. It is not too late to save this absolutely beautiful piece of Pure Michigan history!
Our city is making a comeback. As such, we should restore the bridge for tourists to come as see. I want to see how many people support this cause and I would like to help change the future of our wonderful city by keeping our history preserved for generations to come!
