13th SEPTEMBER 2016 IS THE CENTENARY OF ROALD DAHL’S BIRTH. BUT FOR ME AND MANY OTHER GOLBORNIANS IT IS APPROACHING THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF OUR FIGHT FOR JUSTICE. During my long career, on handing my notice in, I was able to move onwards and upwards, never once experiencing obstruction from my previous employers. I have just come off the phone after spending one hour attempting to remove BTWifi-with-FON from my computer; I am no wiser or less frustrated now than I was an hour ago, my computer is ready to be thrown through the window! An everyday frustration – but... WHAT WOULD MY FRUSTRATION LEVELS BE IF I WAS PREVENTED FROM EARNING A LIVING TO SUPPORT MY LITTLE BOY AND MYSELF? WHAT IS STILL IN DOUBT EVEN AFTER EIGHT UPDATES AND BROWN’S DEPARTURE IS THE MYSTERY OF HOW SHE MANIPULATED THE GOVERNED IN ORDER TO DISRUPT THE COMMUNITY AND DESTROY PEOPLE’S LIVES. WE STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW SHE SUCCESSFULLY CONTROLLED SO MANY CHURCH PEOPLE. A little bit of nonsense. If you don’t like the story write your own story. A group of us are celebrating the centenary of Roald Dahl’s birth, with a reading and analysis of Willy Wonker. The discussion centres on his ability to control people and situations. As you can imagine our critique is very deep, dark and analytically probing. Alarmingly, one of our number is becoming far too emotionally involved with our scrutiny of Willy Wonker and we are forced to suspend our critique of Willy Wonker’s hold-over-people. What subsequently happens is truly amazing, this lady says that she is being given an insight as to how Brown was able to damage so many people (of course, you will understand that I cannot reveal the name of this lady for security reasons, there might still be a Brown about). Nevertheless, what she then begins to reveal to our astonishment, is something truly wondrous. HOW BROWN MANIPULATED THE GOVERNED AND OTHER OFFICIAL BODIES. Ambitious Brown had always desired what she called a HEADSHIP and her then Head Teacher explained to her how she could succeed, even though she knew that Brown was obviously inadequate and only wanted to get rid of her. This Head Teacher told Brown about Noddy’s Hat and its magical properties. She told Brown that it could turn Governors into the governed, giving her total power over them. On her arrival at St Thomas’, Brown promised the governed that she would bring the school kicking and screaming into the 21st century, make it financially viable and raise its OFSTED rating to outstanding. OH the governed were so happy and all the little bells began ringing on their Noddy hats as their blissful heads bobbed up and down. I know that you will say it’s ridiculous. Nevertheless, certain drama people, searching for a reason, any reason, without success, for Brown’s destruction of the Drama Group, now say (and have witness statements to prove it) that the secure cupboards for the protection of the children’s tablets and ipads were being used to store Noddy’s magic hats, THIS IS WHY CLASSROOMS COULD NOT BE USED AS CHANGING ROOMS BY THE DRAMA SOCIETY. Of course this silly excuse caused uproar, until, Angela Walker, the swindled proprietor of the nursery spoke up. Angela insisted that she did not bring a colleague to the second and subsequent meetings with Brown because of Brown’s ranting and raving, but because a member of the governed, sitting next to Brown, was wearing an intimidating Noddy hat. Additionally, she now knows why Brown banned the toddlers from their play area (you are not going to believe this) it was because under a large square of tarpaulin in the corner of the toddler’s playground was a red pedal car for the governed to ride on. However, Angela was forced to admit that she did not know why the toddlers were forbidden the use their classroom. Also Angela suspects that the OFSTED official, who she complained to, just kept nodding and seemed to be listening for the little bell – Angela thinks that Brown had got at her – this official did not report Brown for putting the toddlers at risk and telling lies. Angela says that now that she knows the reasons for the inaction of the governed, causing the loss of her nursery – these answers give her peace of mind. A number of my colleagues are insisting the Noddy syndrome makes far more sense than the official silence and secrecy, even by people who claim to be representing the Drama Group and the Church; at least we are now getting answers instead of being ignored. Nevertheless, some sceptics are still not convinced. However, when Barbara Taylor begins to smile, all eyes are turned toward Barbara, she says that the governed who visited her was acting strangely, twitching and listening, but she couldn’t be certain, what she does say is that a friend had turned into a foe lacking support, lacking compassion and lacking sorrowful contrition. Barbara, like Angela also says she now feels more tranquil and able to forgive; now she knows the cause of all her troubles. Does fantasy make more sense than being ignored, frustrated and despised by inadequate people who join so called prestigious committees and groups, and then find that they are unable or unwilling to fulfil their obligations? At least fantasy opens up some answers, however improbable! Ghislaine Colman and Reverend John Reed who are you negotiating with to reinstate the Parish Hall to its historic community usage, would you please make public the persons or Wigan Authority Department THAT is preventing the Parish Hall returning to its former usage? It is your duty to name these miscreants and enemies of the people of Golborne, enough of this secrecy and timidity! God bless you and guide you, Amen.
