Awesome to think we made it through 100 on day 2! Thanks so much for everyone's support. Next milestone is 200. I would love to see us reach that in one day, but I know that is going to be tough. Yesterday was certainly a weird one as you would think everyone would be behind a cause like this. But when someone from another local green group tries to convince you to be doing otherwise, it kind of makes you wonder what the heck is motivating them. We're all on the same team here trying to make good for the environment. In something like this, like the government, we all need to get off our asses and drive change. No one else is going to do it. So even though it's us down on those beaches picking up bottles, picking up EPS (styrofoam), when it should be the lazy arse government doing the clean-up, or even better, it shouldn't even be there in the first place, we just got to keep going no matter what or who tries to get in our way. We created this disaster, it's up to us to clean it up. And if we don't start educating now, it's never going to stop. Today I took my scrap EPS foam from my surfboard shaping out to the recycler. He started this non-prof organisation not to make a million dollars, but to do his part to drive change. Please help support them and save your foam scraps to donate to them. No, they can't do pick-up. But the effort you make to take it out to them will make a huge difference in the environment. Stop thinking in dollars and cents and just do it. The maximising value for shareholders model is broken and doesn't work anymore. We all need to do our part to shake this crown of being the world's leader in waste!
