Patients against the nomination of Dr. Suzanne Vernon to the CFSAC

The Issue

For many years, the CFIDS Association of America has taken a hands-off stance towards the sickest patients in the ME and CFS community. Many patients have already signed a petition to indicate that the CFIDS Association does not represent them. This petition was presented to the May 2011 CFSAC meeting.

Suzanne Vernon is the science director for the CFIDS Association, is on the board of the IACFS/ME, and is on the board for the DHHS XMRV blood working group.

We feel that the CFIDS Association has not represented us well, and object to any furthering of their presence within the CFSAC.
