This week Mojave High School is taking another large hit to our administrative team. We found out that we will be losing a highly effective and committed assistant principal, Mrs. Karen Hatch. In her short time here, Mrs. Hatch has made large impacts within our school's performing arts program and student council. On Tuesday, May 3, we found out that she is being transferred to Basic High School in Henderson, NV effective Monday, May 15. The student body, especially the performing arts department, takes issue with that since she has accomplished so much at our school including building strong relationships with the students, mentoring our performing arts teachers and student council advisors, and helping with theater rehearsals when our theater teacher was out for several weeks due to illness. Mrs. Hatch is also planning our graduation, including Mojave’s first ever graduation march, and is already geared up for next year’s hiring of staff by finding a new theater teacher. She has also gone above and beyond for Mojave by getting us a free recording studio from the High School Nation Tour and organizing a Fine and Performing Arts Spring Extravaganza to showcase the many talents of the students of Mojave High School.

Mrs. Hatch has established herself as an invaluable aspect to the Mojave High School in just her first year here. We ask that you reconsider the decision to transfer Mrs. Hatch to Basic High School as Mojave High School needs her many talents to grow and flourish.
