Hi, thank you for being here and thank you for your time.

I am asking Congress to introduce and pass the Safe Childhood Act - a national anti-bullying law. Every day, children suffer silently from bullying in schools and online. Some children lose their lives to suicide because of relentless harassment. Parents deserve peace of mind knowing their children are safe at school and on the internet.

 Bullying takes innocent lives, damages mental health, and tears communities apart. It’s time we pass a federal law to protect every child in America. We need national consistency and leadership to finally end bullying everywhere! Online, in schools, and in our neighborhoods. Stand with us to protect children and create safer futures for all. Many schools have policies, but they’re not enough, and they don’t apply equally in every state. We need national leadership to make sure every child is protected regardless of their zip code.

With the Safe Childhood Act, we can:

• Protect students
• Educate schools
• Hold bullies and parents accountable
• Stop the cycle of harm

That will require all U.S. schools to:

• implement mandatory anti-bullying policies
•  provide counseling for victims and bullies
•  hold parents accountable for repeated offenses
• provide funding for prevention programs.

 LET’S BE THE GENERATION THAT FINALLY ENDS BULLYING EVERYWHERE!
