JASPER'S LAW
The Issue
Jasper was a very much loved family pet, he was put in the care of a dog boarder in Redcar, North Yorkshire, while his owners went away on holiday. The dog boarder was paid £150 to board Jasper for 6 nights. Whilst in her care it was alleged
Jasper ran off i Errington Wood, New Marske on Wednesday 14 August 2019. Jasper's family are now aware the boarder was not looking after jasper on Saturday 10 August as she was working at Redcar Races on Security. They also have proof that another lady was with Jasper on Saturday 10 August 2019 at 12:41pm.
The family were contacted and informed that Jasper went missing on the 4th day of being boarded. When the daughter of Jasper's family arrived back to the UK from a trip abroad, she went straight to the woods to search where Jasper was supposedly missing from. Jasper's harness, collar, lead, medication and the £150 boarding money were later returned to Jasper's family. Red flags became apparent when the council informed Jasper's family that the dog boarder was unlicensed, and they were informed that she stated she did not charge payment to board Jasper, and that she only done it as a favour to them (Jasper's owner didn't know the boarder and had never previously met her?). The boarder also failed to disclose that she had her own 4 big du dogue dogs at the house, one in heat, along with three dashounds she was boarding that weekend. However, the dashounds were sent home as the owners were informed they would not settle. In the nearly 2 years Jasper has been missing, the boarder has never been investigated by the police or the council. There has never been a confirmed sighting of jasper and the boarder lied to the council under caution to say she did not charge payment to look after Jasper. There have been many inconsistencies from day one in the boarders story and obviously the family are devastated. The full details of Jasper's story can be seen on Jasper's facebook group "Help Find Jasper"
https://www.facebook.com/groups/476044013187255/?ref=share
The not knowing what happened to Jasper and the slience and lies from the boarder continue to torment the family, they are heartbroken and deeply disappointed with the lack of help from Redcar and Cleveland Police and Council.
Furthermore, on 17th December 2020 the boarders three dog du bordeaux dogs were involved in a very serious incident in Locke Park, Redcar, where they attacked a little dog called Ted. It seems, the boarders dogs are clearly very dangerous as they attacked Ted as a pack while on leads, and it was apparent the boarder had no control of them. The raises the question was Jasper attacked by the boarders dogs and then the incident covered up?. Also if the boarders dogs attack again it couldl lead to very tragic conseqences.
The law needs to change to ensure that every situation regarding lost, stolen and missing family pets is investigated fully!!. Their lives matter, Jasper's life mattered and the unlicensed boarder and breeder needs to be held accountable, and not be protected by the local police and council that failed to ensure she held a licence.
Jasper is the victim and we need justice for him
