Almost all animals wether they be wildlife or pets are terrified by the enormous bangs that accompany fireworks. So too are war veterans with ptsd as these bangs can seem similar to gunfire. Why can't fireworks still produce a light display without the noise. It would not take away the enjoyment and it would benefit all. There is also a problem of young and irresponsible people using fireworks for purposes they were not intended for. It has been known that they are often thrown at police and firemen in the course of their duty. The regulation of the sale of fireworks does not seem to have the effect of them not falling into the wrong hands.
