Students who are paying $285 per semester (about 4 months) of parking should be guaranteed a parking spot near their Residence Hall. At Saint Louis University we are required to live on campus our Freshman and Sophomore years, therefore causing us to pay around $6,500 per semester for housing costs. While living on campus has its perks, it is still necessary to get off campus every now and then for various reasons. This is why so many students have vehicles that they bring to campus and pay for a parking permit. There are usually spots available during the day when students are off campus at jobs, the med campus for classes, performing community service around the area, etc. However, anytime students try to park past 9pm it is almost virtually impossible unless you get lucky and find a spot on the street.SLU Parking and Card Services also enforces a strict policy on not allowing people with resident permits to park in visitor spots, even though visitors typically aren't requiring the loading zones between the hours of 10pm-10am.
