As a college student who already has to pay thousands of dollars per quarter/semester, it is a very unreasonable requirement to have to pay extremely high costs for parking/parking permits when there are not even enough guaranteed parking spots to accommodate the number of students who need parking to begin with. In any public setting, parking works on a first come first serve basis, so why is it that we must pay almost $200 for every one third or half of a year for a parking permit that does not even promise us a space to park? This petition is intended to urge colleges, parking management, and associated parties to reduce the high costs of permits considering the lack of parking and the inconvenience thereof. With this reduction, we as students will actually be able to utilize those available funds for any further educational fees and will surely aid us in any of our existing financial cases.
