Hi! My name is Mia Trotta and I am a junior at Oak Park River Forest High School. I am in Civics and for my service learning project I am hoping to solve the parking issue we have at OPRFHS. I have a parking pass and frequently park on the Lake Street parking lanes near the soccer field. I am interested in putting lines in the parking lanes. It is very difficult to park on Lake Street because many drivers either leave too much space for their car or park in the middle of the lane. Further down Lake Street near Oak Park Ave there are lines in the parking lanes. 

I have emailed my principal seeking out information as to what we can do about this. I have also been in contact with the Village. The Village told me that not having lines is meant to maximize the parking spots, but I argue it does the opposite. I also spoke to the Village about the angle parking spots on Scoville besides the soccer field and they have put in an order to repaint the lines. 

I am hoping that with your support we can add lines to the parking lanes on Lake Street.
