We express our concern regarding the lack of affordable and accessible parking for the teachers and staff of Ultimo Public School. The current situation is proving to be a major deterrent in acquiring and retaining teachers, which in turn is impacting our children's education.

We are therefore requesting that Transport for NSW, the City of Sydney and the
NSW Department of Education supports the creation of affordable, subsidised spaces and all-day car park exemptions for our teachers and staff at Ultimo Public School.

Most of our 32 staff members and necessary casual teachers require car parking.
Also, many need to pick up their own children after school from other locations, so having a car to go to and from work is absolutely necessary.

We have identified areas where parking may be subsidised such as Jones Street,
Quarry Street, Fig Street and Bulwara Road. We urge you to consider these
locations and take immediate action to make affordable parking spaces for our
teachers and staff.

We believe that creating affordable, subsidised parking spaces will not only improve the working conditions for our teachers but also ensure that our children receive the quality education they deserve.
