Park in Tallawong / Rouse Hill - Reserve 1048

Park in Tallawong / Rouse Hill - Reserve 1048
The issue
Dear Mayor of Blacktown Council,
We need your support to establish a park in Reserve 1048 between Syntax Crescent and India Parade in Rouse Hill.
Along Tallawong Road, Rouse Hill, there has been a huge influx of new homes as part of Blacktown Council’s and NSW State Government Rezoning and development. With all the new families moving in, unfortunately, there is a lack of planning and implementation from council in respect to active parks, playgrounds, and footpaths walking distance for current residence.
Blacktown council's plan is to provide a park with a playground in Reserve 1048, per their section 7.11 contribution plan no 22W Rouse Hill. This is scheduled for completion in 2023 and is grossly under budgeted at $993,000.
Over the last year, during calls to council, we have heard different stories and respectfully, different excuses. For example, one is they are prioritising a park at the corner of Guntawong and Tallawong road (Reserve 1052). This intersection is a busy / unsafe road and we have now also heard the site has asbestos and will be delayed even longer.
At the present time, a lot of the kids are playing on the roads which is an extreme safety hazard, especially given the large construction vehicles in the area and ample dust with roads not complete.
Reserve 1048 has the roads completed around and is ready for council to purchase and implement a park. We hope that Mayor Bleasdale can see the importance of this park to the community and can finalise their plans.
As local residents, we have no confidence the Council will meet their own deadline. If you live locally, please sign this petition and leave a comment about your family and how this park being delayed negatively impacts you. We need the Mayor to see this.
