As most parents who have had to do the dreaded afternoon pick up of their child/children from Gracemere State School, it is nothing short of been a nightmare. 

The parking lot is simply poorly designed and nowhere big enough. 

To add to the problem, the police patrol and issue tickets to those that park on the grass and now it appears a teacher/admin are “rumoured” (no proof it is simply a rumour) also taking photos and handing into the police. 

Of course without major roadworks been done the options are limited to what can be done to fix this problem. 

One limited option is to have all staff and day visitors to Gracemere State School park their vehicles in the bottom car park instead of the front gate (top car park). 

Over the course of a week at varied times throughout the day there is at least 20 cars parked in the top car park while none are down the bottom. 

Surely if the staff parked down the bottom will  free up over 20 car parks making it easier for parents to collect their children safely and been free of fines. 

This petition is a simple way of bringing this to the attention of the school and hopefully they take it on board.
