Per the CBE email sent 8/14/20:

"For the 2020-21 school year, the CBE will require all staff and students (kindergarten to Grade 12) to wear a mask at school. This includes classrooms and public spaces such as hallways, learning commons, bathrooms, etc. Masks are also required for staff and students travelling on Calgary Transit or a yellow school bus."

If you think this is an unnecessary and ridiculous requirement for children, please sign this petition!

Masks for young children will be :

-  a distraction 

- a warm and moist environment for mold and bacteria to grow 

- preventing them from speaking loud enough to be heard

- hard for some parents to afford enough masks to last a week x 2-3 masks per day

- another battle for parents whose children have special needs, ADD/ADHD, ODD, etc  

- preventing lip reading and recognizing facial body language 

- harder for introvert children to communicate 

Let the Calgary Board of Education know you do NOT approve of mandatory masks in schools!
