As a long-term parent at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, I am writing to share my personal experience of the impact that Principal Anna Owen has had over the last 4.5 years. This petition was created by a group of concerned parents who wish to share their individual views — it does not represent the position of the broader Grammar community, and those who sign do so to express their own personal perspective only.

In my experience, Principal Owen's leadership has enriched the academic and personal lives of our children and contributed to a strong sense of community and belonging within the school. Her commitment to student wellbeing, academic excellence, and an inclusive environment has, in the view of many who are signing this petition, been a genuine asset to our school.

Many parents who have signed this petition feel that Principal Owen listens and takes action. In their experience, students are inspired and teachers are supported. Her initiatives have, for many families, advanced the school's reputation and created a welcoming atmosphere.

The unexpected announcement of her departure has left a number of us confused and concerned. We — as individual parents speaking only for ourselves — believe we owe it to our children to ask why such a valued leader is departing, and to request clarity and transparency in this matter.

We propose that the relevant educational authorities provide a comprehensive explanation for this decision, and we individually request that Anna 

Owen's position be reconsidered.  We urge the school board and educational authorities to consider the views expressed here by the individuals signing this petition, and the positive experiences many of us have had under Principal Owen's leadership.
