Meriwether Board  Members and Superintendent of Meriwether County School system is trying to close our school without hearing the voices of the entire community. During this mandated social distancing and pandemic crisis we are facing, they are doing a teleconference via phone to hear a select few community members concerns. They has failed our children and community. Many parents and community members do not have access to internet and accurate information was not giving out in a timely manner for us to respond to them. They have yet to respond to my email asking for data to prove why they have chosen to close the George E. Washington Elementary verses consolidating the two high schools. Our school is a Title One school and bring in majority of the funds for the county. My question is why are they in a rush to close our during this pandemic crisis.
