Mayor Margo Deal Anderson was the whistleblower on FEMA fraud in the city of Lynn Haven, Florida,  following Hurricane Michael in 2018.  She was falsely indicted on 64 federal charges, which were all dismissed or dropped during 35 months of lawfare by the corrupt Bay County Sheriff’s office and US Attorney Larry Keefe of the Northern District of Florida.  Bay County Florida, the City of Lynn Haven, and of course, the Mayor and her family were impacted by her false arrest, incarceration, and non-stop media coverage, including a one hour press conference in her hometown destroying her good name forever. 
Mayor Anderson is now free after she pled guilty to a false statement to the FBI and served 30 days in federal prison. She did not make a false statement to the FBI agent; he actually made false statements about HER to the grand jury, which is proven in the transcripts. They threatened her with life in prison if she did not agree to the false statement if she went to trial and lost; they told her they would indict her again if she were acquitted. Mayor Anderson was indicted four times, and her attorney fees were over 1.4 million, she had no reason to doubt them. Mayor Anderson is seeking , in addition to a pardon from President Trump, a hearing before the House and Senate judiciary committees to expose the travesty that occurred in the Panhandle of Florida. At this time only 1% of federal defendants see the grand jury transcripts. If Mayor Anderson had not been granted access to the transcripts by the order of the Court she could not have proven that both the FBI agent  and the assistant US Attorney lied to the grand jury to indict her. They both immediately retired after they were exposed in the evidentiary hearing. But they faced no consequences, and retired with full benefits .  Most people do not have a million dollars to fight charges and so just take a plea deal when indicted. This must change. The federal grand jury system which was meant to be a buffer between citizens and a zealous prosecutor has now become flawed; defendants should not be threatened with draconian sentences for exercising their constitutional right to trial. Prosecutors can indict virtually anyone because the grand jury only hears the government narrative without testimony by the defendant. 
Now is the time to sign this petition and give Mayor Margo a national platform from which to tell her story of injustice. Until the FBI surrounded her house and she was handcuffed and shackled for hours in a cell as false charges were read against her in a press conference, her only encounter with law enforcement was a traffic violation over thirty years before. Hers was a life well-lived; she had a 92% approval rating when re-elected unopposed in 2019.   If this happened to her, it could happen to anyone. 
She was a strong voice for the City of Lynn Haven during the worst disaster in its history; she has stood strong through a travesty of injustice in which she was silenced, removed from office without due process by Governor DeSantis, and she will stand strong now to be a voice for change if she is given the hearing before Congress.
