On July 4 2014, City Mayor Edwin L Olivarez has announced on mainstream media that he will implement TOTAL TRUCK BAN along Dña Soledad Avenue (DSA) in Bgy Don Bosco based on City Ordinance03-12 (793) Series of 2003. However, these trucks of more than 5T or 11,000 GWT continue to ply and access DSA, with no apprehension at all of erring vehicles to the detriment of commuters, destruction of paved roads and causing tremendous traffic and grid lock all day long.
Worse, since DSA was declared as Mabuhay and Christmas lanes, residents of Bgy Don Bosco has to endure untold misery and sacrifices affecting work and school attendances, dip in business income and many more economic hardship brought about by daily traffic grind.
The ordinance has to be implemented with strong political from City Hall without fear or favour to alleviate the plight of Bgy Don Bosco residents and help protect their socio-economic well being.
