Good dog owners who actually register their dogs are being stung hard with fees while irresponsible dog owners who many of the fees relate to don't even register their dog. Much of what we are paying for (as stated on the district council website) is not even relevant to responsible dog owners. I have two dogs, neither of which are aggressive, they have never been picked up by the council and have never been to the pound and yet I am paying for these 'services' as well as many other good dog owners in the same position. Dog registration is just a means of making 'good dog owners pay for negligence of irresponsible dog owners'. This country is becoming increasingly dog 'unfriendly' and punishing all dog owners because of the actions (or lack of) of irresponsible dog owners. Stand up for your furbaby and please sign this petition and take action against the cost of dog registration. We should not be punished because of a few irresponsible dog owners! Dogs are family, not taxable objects!
