Palatka Mayor Terrill L. Hill is working against the best interests of the people he represents.

As a former NAACP President, I have worked most of my life to advance social and economic justice for people who look like me. 

What Mayor Hill is doing won't help anyone.  It won't bring economic prosperity to the town.  It won't improve schools.  It won't create jobs.  

But what it will do is drive a bigger wedge between the races in Putnam Co. and people who look like me will get the blame.

Dr. King' dream was for all of us to sit at the table of brotherhood together.  Major Hill wants to destroy the table, and that is what he is doing by demanding the cenotaph come down.

The cenotaph is not a white man's monument, but a monument to all Southerners...black, brown, yellow, red and white who defended their homes against an aggressive northern armed invasion.

Taking it down is wrong for me, it is wrong for you and it is wrong for Palatka and Putnam County.

Tell Mayor Hill to resign, today.
